Press Release:

AtlasTrack™ 2.0 Ships for Nextel™ GPS Handsets Allowing Secure Portable Tracking and Instant Messaging

Wireless J2ME Application Is World's Most Comprehensive, for Fleet Management and the Mobile Workforce

Irvine, CA, June 10, 2003

Networks in Motion, Inc. (NIM), today released the world’s first Portable Tracking application with a persistent encrypted data channel, allowing for the most secure Mobile Resource Management (MRM) solution available. Written in J2ME for Nextel’s new generation of GPS enabled cell phones, AtlasTrack 2.0 has an unmatched, comprehensive set of features including, Automatic Location Reporting, Stopped or Moving Determination, Real Time Instant Messaging, Work Flow Status and Notifications for Excessive Speed and Low Battery.

AtlasTrack 2.0 works through the wireless internet, in conjunction with NIM’s location servers and Map Messenger™ desktop mapping and tracking application, making a complete MRM solution. Target markets include: Fleet Management, Transportation, Construction, Field Services, Government, Real Estate, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom and any business with a mobile Sales Force. These markets benefit from a phone-based portable tracking over a traditional “black box” tracking solution due to the reduced cost and elimination of installation hassles and delays.

"First for Secure and Private Tracking"

While other portable tracking solutions broadcast unprotected GPS location packets over the air, AtlasTrack 2.0 is the first Nextel product to encrypt not only GPS location packets, but also all instant messages with 128 Bit SSL Encryption. This provides unparalleled safety and privacy for employees and critical personnel while they are moving around in the field.

“We’ve built our portable tracking platform upon the fundamental requirement for privacy and security.”, said Michael Sheha, President of NIM. “Our approach has been well received by customers in several different industries. We are now seeing the ability to encrypt GPS information and messages as a critical part of the buying decision.”

Flexible Location and Stop Reporting

AtlasTrack 2.0 can be configured for Time Interval Reports or Distance Interval Reports. A Time Interval Report automatically sends the GPS location of the user on a fixed time period (as low as 1 min), while a Distance Interval Report sends the GPS location when a user travels a certain distance. These reports provide more flexibility for minimizing wireless data usage, when dealing with highway verses city driving.

With Stop Reports enabled, AtlasTrack 2.0 will automatically determine when the user has stopped temporarily, parked for more than 30 minutes, or has been sitting stationary for some time, and will report the time, duration and location back to the NIM server. A stopped or moving indicator is viewable from the handset. Accurate distances are also measured and reported between stops. Stop Reports can be used alone, or in conjunction with Time or Interval Reports.

Instant Messaging (IM)

AtlasTrack 2.0 users can IM with a Map Messenger desktop member, to another AtlasTrack handset member, or can broadcast to a group of members. A roster of all available members indicates whether or not they are online and ready to message. User definable preset messages significantly simplify the process of sending a message from the handset. AtlasTrack 2.0 stores incoming and outgoing messages for later review and will record not only the time the message was delivered, but also the time that the user read the message.

Mobile WorkFlow Management

Along with tracking location, AtlasTrack 2.0 also provides a powerful workflow management solution for tracking other user activity throughout the day. Like a mobile timecard, users can instantly change their work status to one of eight selections, including Available, En Route, At Location, and At Lunch. Field service industries benefit significantly from this feature, as it allows accurate recording of when mobile workers arrive at a job, and how long they are there.

Pricing and Availability

AtlasTrack is available today to be downloaded “over-the-air” from Nextel’s wireless network. AtlasTrack 2.0 accounts are purchased through the Networks In Motion web site at: www.NetworksInMotion.com or through supported resellers, and allow the user to sign into the application and run the MRM solution. The price for AtlasTrack 2.0 software is $49 per phone, there is a one time activation fee of $99 for each account, and the monthly service fee is $24.95. This service includes 60 days of location storage on NIM’s servers, and requires a one year contract.

The Map Messenger™ desktop software required for a complete MRM solution is sold separately by NIM. The supported GPS cell phones are sold through Nextel™, and AtlasTrack requires a minimum of a 1MB data plan installed on the phone. A larger data plan may be needed depending on user requirements, although AtlasTrack 2.0 can be run in many cost saving modes.
