Press Release:
NETWORKS IN MOTION WINS AGAIN AT GLOBAL LBS CHALLENGE
PhotoFinder™ and AtlasBook™ Solutions Enhance Mobile Users’ Productivity, Convenience, and Fun
NEW ORLEANS, March 16, 2005
Networks In Motion™, a wireless software solutions provider for mobile workforce management and location-based services (LBS), won top honors in the gaming/location based imaging category for its PhotoFinder™ solution at the Global LBS Challenge presented by NAVTEQ. The Challenge is being held in conjunction with the CTIA WIRELESS 2005 Conference being held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans March 14 –16.
“We are very pleased to again, be one of the winners at the challenge, and to have our latest wireless LBS software solution recognized,” said Doug Antone, President and CEO of Networks In Motion. “We believe that location awareness in cellular phones will be the key driver of consumers’ use of the vast information available to them wirelessly.”
PhotoFinder is a simple way to keep track of photos taken with a cell phone’s camera; a Mobile Photo Journal. Easily manage photos containing location tags on the phone, view them on a map, send to them to another phone or website along with navigation to the spot the picture was taken. AtlasBook utilizes a cell phone’s built-in GPS technology to deliver a full suite of tools including real-time turn-by-turn directions, full-color, high-quality maps of the user’s location, and Yellow Pages to search for places nearby. Users can even logon to the AtlasBook Web site and store favorite places and trips that they can later retrieve from their phone. These features work together to simplify travel planning, save time on the road and make mobile life more productive. AtlasBook transforms a cell phone into a personal travel guide.
“NAVTEQ is pleased to name Networks In Motion as the winner of the gaming/location based imaging category of our second annual Global LBS Challenge, and we want to congratulate them for again delivering such a compelling and exciting location-based services solution” said Winston Guillory, Senior Vice President of North American Sales for NAVTEQ. “This event highlights the market demand for location-enabled products and services, as well as recognition by the wireless carriers of the value-add that these services bring to their customers.”
